Will white supremacy, a tool that built Britain’s monarchy, put the nail in the coffin?
As Britain’s economy tumbles to new lows, worse than it’s been since 1709, is the country’s greatest strength – global domination and colonization – now its greatest weakness?
While white supremacy was a vital tool in building the British Empire from the 15th through 20 centuries, today, the story is much changed with the advent of the black lives matter moment.
As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat with Oprah Winfrey, exposing the royal family for alleged racist treatment towards them, the world was left shocked by their admission. It was a necessary confirmation about a family representing the pinnacle of white supremacy and a culture that often gaslights its victims.
While the royal family tries to depict a modern picture of itself, perhaps their excessive branding efforts are ineffective, as many are left questioning their importance in a country with a declining economy and an active government that works independently of them.
Prince Harry admitted that he would not have spoken out had they not dismissed him of his financial privileges. Perhaps it was a myopic decision on their part, as now they will have to face their power crumble in the court of public opinion.
Yet, the royals are not alone in their alleged racism; the disease spread across the country and was best exposed in the majority vote to leave the European Union in 2016.
Unfortunately for Britain, while they benefited from white supremacy for half a millennia, times up, and now it seems to be what will extinguish their already dwindling light.
